learning the guitar at 50 years old.online...

Having reached the ripe old age of 50 years young I have finally decided to learn to play the guitar,I had always wanted too learn,but could never seem to find the time when I was younger, as I was always surfing or playing football,and I pretty much didn't have the patience,nor the desire to go through the lessons and the study that is involved with not just learning to play the guitar,but to learning to play well,it just wasn't me then.
Being more mature now and content with my life now,now seems the right time.
Having much more time on my hands,it seems appropriate that this is the right time to learn,being that my concentration and desire to learn as much as I can has skyrocketed,I now see no reason to hold back on what I have always wanted to do.
Since turning 50 years young,it's quite funny how you tend to look back and say to yourself if only I had done this or that,well that way of thinking is all over now.So I am going to finally do this and that,I am going to learn to play the guitar at 50.
I thought about paying for lessons with the local guitar teacher at his music studio,but I worked out how much it would have cost me for 2 lessons a week with the teacher at his guitar academy and it was way too expensive.
So I have now decided to learn to play the guitar online,so much cheaper to learn the guitar online and at home,in my own time and at my own pace.Looking around on the internet,trying to decide which direction I want to take as to the style of guitar I want to play,it seems logical to me to start from scratch and not only learning the guitar,but also learn to read music as well.
There is quite an extensive selection of online guitar tutors to choose from on the internet with every style of guitar playing imaginable.The task wasn't easy,but I came across a fantastic,and quite astonishingly inexpensive guitar learning software package called Guitar HotShot.This software package is and amazingly in depth,step by step tutorial on all aspects of the guitar and is so easy to understand.One of the best features on the Guitar Hotshot is the different styles of guitar you can learn,everything from rock,classical,metal,jazz,fusion,latin,folk,spanish,it's all here,honestly,this really is a complete package at your disposal to teach yourself the guitar at home.You get 24-7 access to all resources for the modern guitar playing,so who knows with plenty of study and lot's of practice I might even,one day play like steve lukather,joe satriani or maybe jimi hendrix,well maybe not that good,as I do believe that jimi hendrix was probably one of the best,so that task is probably out of my league and for that matter,anyone's ability to play as good as jimi hendrix played,but who know's! we can only try.
Also I thought that the feature,"The Guitar HotShot Membership" section is great as it gives you unlimited access to all updated instructions,tips and training on video,heaps of audio and documentation.One thing that caught my eye was the fact that even if you already can play the guitar proficiently,the Guitar HotShot helps you improve on your riffs and basically smoothes out the rough edges of your guitar playing.
In rounding off,I am pretty happy with my choice of Online Guitar Lessons and have just bought myself the nice acoustic guitar and am now ready to go,so now it's all up to me now,and this time I will not give up,but will be able to learn in my own time and not have to worry about being on time for my guitar lessons as it is all here in front of me at home.Please let me know too if anyone else,like myself is learning from scratch also.
