USA College fairs - London and Edinburgh
Added: (Wed Aug 31 2005)
Europe’s largest recruiting fair for US universities to be held in London on 01st October 2005
London 1 September 2005—The US Educational Advisory Service (EAS), The Fulbright Commission will be holding its annual College Day USA at the New Connaught Rooms, Covent Garden on 01st October 2005 from 10 until 16.00. The largest fair in Europe, there will be over 120 US universities represented for students interested in undergraduate education in the USA. EAS runs a series of mini-seminars throughout the day as well as providing a bookstore with relevant publications.
With the rise of UK tuition fees, many students are now exploring the possibility of studying in the USA. Anthony Nemecek, Director of EAS, says, “ EAS has seen a 500% increase in queries about study in the USA since January 2003. Last year, we dealt with over 700,000 questions from prospective students. Currently there are over 8,400 HE UK students in the USA. The 2004 fair attracted over 3,500 participants, almost double the numbers from 2003. We will not be surprised, based on interest expressed and pre-registration numbers, for that figure to double once again.”
Due to this increased interest, there will also be a fair in Edinburgh on 29 September 2005 at the Merchiston Castle School.
To attend College Day FREE OF CHARGE, attendees will need to present a registration form which can be obtained at The US-UK Fulbright Commission’s website at www.fulbright.co.uk/eas, with all College Day information found by a link from the home page. Attendees not presenting a registration form will be charged a fee of £2 at the door. For more information please call 020 7404 6994 or email education@fulbright.co.uk.
The US Educational Advisory Service is the only officially recognised source of information on US education in the UK and is part of the Education USA network sponsored by the US State Department.
