Teaching the Art of Eating Acorns
Added: (Tue Apr 16 2002)
Constant growth into our rural areas has
nature-lovers concerned about the future
of Oaks. A field guide and cookbook for
eating acorns, Acorns And Eat'em, has
"probably saved quite a few trees" says
the author, Suellen Ocean.
Suellen hopes that gourmet cooks and
lovers of the outdoors will enjoy
eating acorns enough to prevent further
devastation of Oak trees. "Real Estate
professionals can point out not only the
beauty of the Oaks on a property but
also their value as a delicious food
source." Suellen has been teaching the
art of eating acorns for almost twenty-
five years and is amazed at how the
practice is growing. "I receive calls
from people all across the country," she
says, "I've even had oders for the book
from England, New Zealand and Canada,
and am collecting email addresses under
the title, Acorn-Lovers". For more info
on eating acorns, see Suellen's website
