Play Your Way into the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Insight Programme with the eFinancialCareers.co

Added: (Fri Dec 18 2009)

Pressbox (Press Release) - eFinancialCareers.com, the leading global careers site for financial professionals, is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the eFinancialCareers.com Investment Challenge, sponsored by Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Teams of five undergraduate students can now register online at www.efinancialcareers.com/bofamlchallenge until 5 January 2010 for the chance to win an invitation to attend an Insight Week at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch office in London and a £2500 cash prize.

The eFinancialCareers.com Investment Challenge is an online trading game that gives teams of students the opportunity to test their trading skills and compete against fellow students from universities across Europe. Starting 11 January 2010, each team – comprised of one ‘Head Trader’ and four ‘Analysts’ – will receive a £10,000,000 fantasy fund to use over one month for trading European equities on the London, Frankfurt, Madrid and Euronext Exchanges.

Top performing teams in the month long Investment Challenge will then be asked to submit a finance-based case study which will be reviewed by a panel from Bank of America Merrill Lynch. From those, the top teams will be selected as finalists and invited to attend an Insight Week at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch London office in April. There, the teams will have the opportunity to learn about the business, take part in challenges and find out about 2011 summer internship opportunities. During the Insight Week, the finalists will also learn which team has won the £2500 prize.

John Benson, founder and CEO of eFinancialCareers.com, said:

“The Investment Challenge is not only a unique opportunity for students interested in pursuing careers in banking and finance to try their hands at trading, it’s also a chance to win a highly coveted place on the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Insight Programme. This Investment Challenge additionally asks students to interact and reach decisions as a team, not as individuals – which will help to prepare students for the intense teamwork that a career in banking requires.”

Bank of America Merrill Lynch stated:

“We are delighted to be sponsoring the eFinancialCareers Investment Challenge as a key part of the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Insight Programme. eFinancialCareers.com is positioned to provide us exposure to the student community across Europe wishing to enter the financial sector. We look forward to welcoming the best teams to our Insight Week in April.”

Registration for the eFinancialCareers.com Investment Challenge, sponsored by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, is open until 5 January 2010. Trading opens on 11 January and closes on 11 February 2010. In order to be eligible for the prizes, all team members must attend the same European university and be graduating in 2012. In addition, all teams must have at least two female members.
