LPU is approved by Distance Education Council, New Delhi, too for its Distance Education Programmes, which will mean that LPU ODL students are eligible for government jobs. Approval from DEC ensures eligibility of students for employment and promotions in Central Government Organizations.
LPU’s Distance Education Programmes weave in innovative curriculum and pedagogy, comprehensive study material, interactive classes; 5 days a week for Bachelor’s Programmes and on Sundays, for Master’s Programmes, exhaustive online support in the form of active e-learning portal, online resources and evaluation system.
Students enrolling for distance education programmes at LPU are taught by competent and experienced faculty members and can also avail the University’s infrastructural facilities, including the University Library. Students can make complete use of the highly active placement cell of the university, which helps them find employment.
A student of LPU ODL, Kamal Kaur said, “With all student services being provided, we are getting more than we expected, and at a highly economical fee structure. I preferred LPU for studying distance education primarily because it is DEC approved, but now I am more than happy with so many additional features that the Programmes are offering. It’s a different and rewarding experience as compared to conventional distance education systems.”
Ashok Mittal, Chancellor-LPU, while underlining the importance of off-campus education, said, “With the ambition of educating maximum people, the country has to bear with many constraints like availability of financial resources, manpower and teaching aid. Distance education is the panacea for all these all problems which students face and this has motivated us to come up with a wide variety of ODL programmes, which will serve many aspiring students, especially the working professionals who cannot attend regular classes.”
