Revision and Exams?
Education: Education.com Show You 'How To'
----Begins----
Exams are one of the most stressful things in any child’s life. With the revision and exam season fast approaching, Education.com have developed free ‘How To’ online guides to revising and sitting exams which are now available on http://uk.education.com.
Prepared by education professionals, the guides offer simple, practical advice that helps children to focus and use their time in the most efficient and productive way.
'How To...Revises' Example Extract:
Good revision methods include:
Teachers - If revision lessons are being offered by your school, make sure you attend them, and if you need clarification on any subject, ask a teacher, because they will point you in the right direction.
Using a tape recorder to record yourself reading your notes - this works well with language revision.
Take and re-write notes – the original, tried and tested method: To make this more effective, actually re-word and re-phrase the notes you write.
Look at past papers – everyone should do this if at all possible. It’s the only way to get a sense of how a particular exam works.
Keep a notice-board of notes, quotes and ideas. This is a useful revision aid - especially if it’s the first thing you see when you wake up in the morning!
Get other people to test you – this is always a good idea, but remember not to get distracted.
If you are planning to run anything on the forthcoming exams, Education.com are happy for the ‘How To’ guides to be used in part or in full if they are given a credit.
'How To' guides include:
'How To… Revise'
'How To… Sit An Exam'
'How To… Write An Essay Or Piece Of Coursework'
'How To… Get Your Homework Done'
The 'How To' guides can be found in Moskitown at http://uk.education.com/, which also features a wide variety of online and CD-ROM learning tools, safe surfing and chat, regular competitions and special features making it the first online destination for parents children and teachers.
