ACES Youth Project once again sets the stage for ‘THE DIAMOND BALL AWARDS 2009’ – a televised red carpet event that celebrates the academic achievements of students of African and Caribbean heritage who have excelled in their exams, achieved despite the odds or have contributed positively to their communities..

The Awards Ceremony takes place this December in London. Successful nominees will be invited to an ‘Oscar’ style evening where they will be presented with awards by prominent black role models.

Last year’s glittering guest list included Levi Roots (Dragons Den millionaire), YolanDa Brown (MOBO winner 2008 & 2009), Femi Oyeniran (Kidulthood & Adulthood actor), and Dawn Butler MP (Brent South), who will also support the event this year.

“I’d encourage everybody to go out and nominate a child […] The Diamond Ball proves that the majority of young people do really well […] and we should celebrate it together.” – Dawn Butler

Nominations can be made online at http://www.acesproject.co.uk/awards/nominate.html. The closing date for nominations is Friday, 30th October 2009.
