Pressbox (Press Release) -
ACES Youth Project once again sets the stage for the ‘DIAMOND BALL AWARDS 2009’ – a televised red carpet event that celebrates the academic achievements of students of African and Caribbean heritage who have excelled in their exams, achieved despite the odds or have contributed positively to their communities.
The Awards Ceremony will take place at London’s stunning Porchester Hall on Friday 4th December. Here, successful nominees will enjoy an ‘Oscar style’ evening where they will be presented with awards by prominent role models.
Last year’s glittering guest list included Lord Taylor of Warwick, Levi Roots (Dragons Den millionaire), YolanDa Brown (MOBO winner 2008 & 2009), Femi Oyeniran (Kidulthood & Adulthood actor), and Dawn Butler MP (Brent South).
“The Diamond Ball proves that the majority of young people do really well […] and we should celebrate it together.” – Dawn Butler.
