Added: (Wed Nov 23 2011)

Pressbox (Press Release) - Chamilo, the open-source learning management system (LMS/VLE) has just been awarded the third place in the most promising open source project category of the annual packt publishing awards.

While winners this year include jQuery, Joomla and Drupal, Chamilo proves that its current roadmap for version 1.9 as well as the Chamilo 2.0 project makes it a serious contestant for next year’s first place and the current leader in open source LMS development.

Supported by many Universities including HogeSchool Gent, University of Geneva, University of Grenoble and University of Brussels, Chamilo aims to provide everyone with an easy and free access to e-learning software, and is represented by the Chamilo non-profit organization.
