CMI Grants Endorsement to a New NQF Listed, Level 2 Flexible-Learning Qualification in Team Leading

Added: (Tue Apr 19 2005)

Vocational Learning Materials Publisher Project Initiatives Ltd. have announce this month that, following extensive in-depth negotiation, the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) has granted its endorsement to a brand new Level 2 NQF listed Qualification. The Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading is now accessible nationwide (funded where eligible) through the network of 90+ FE Colleges that constitute the National Consortium of Colleges (NCC).

The learning materials for this universally relevant management Qualification were endorsed on the 8th of April, which marked the first endorsement by the Institute of externally produced learning materials. This means that the course, which updates the Certificate in Supervisory Development, will now join the NCC’s ever burgeoning list of section 96/97 NQF listed qualifications.

The CMI were wholly positive in their Cross Matching and Mapping Review of the Programme Materials, considering the activities and assessment questions to be "sound and relevant". CMI's John Fawson said there was "very good mapping between the knowledge and understanding for the Certificate in Team Leading (CTL) and the required workbook activities. The content quality of this document is excellent".

The course is suitable across sectors for anyone employed in, or aspiring to fill, a supervisory position. This versatile Qualification will help colleges meet their targets in satisfying LSC priorities for level 2 entitlement, demand-led learning and moving towards transforming FE to stimulate more investment from business, for training and skills development.

In the conclusion to his review the programmae the CMI’s John Fawson deduced that, "All in all this is first class material, very well mapped and which should produce good results for the candidates and their employers. The programme in its current form is more than acceptable to the Institute. I highly recommend the programme."

FE Colleges interested in joining the NCC, or who would like to discuss adding this vital new qualification to their existing curriculum offer should contact the NCC on 0800 195 1114.
