The CAT 2011 exam results will be declared on Wednesday, 11 January 2012. The day will decide the fate of the more than 2 lakh candidates. With 40 days to go for the results to be declared you need to plan in advance your action plan post the results.
Once the result is declared the short-listing of candidates for GD-PI-WAT by IIMs and other top MBA schools will begin. The CAT 2011 website will come out with the detailed information on the next stage procedures few days before the results are out. You will have to go through these to get yourself prepared.

In case, you think that you fall short of the entry requirements of the top 25 B schools, then you should begin to apply to the next set of B schools.

CAT 2011 was conducted in a 20 day window from Saturday, October 20, 2011 to Friday, November 18, 2011 in 68 test centres across 36 cities. The total number of test takers was 2,05,345. The number of actual test takers was more than 1.85 lakh.
This year, IIM Calcutta conducted CAT in association with Prometric. MeritTrac Services Pvt. Ltd., Everonn Education Ltd and CMS provided resources and on-site support to Prometric for the test delivery of CAT 2011.
Similar to the first successful computer based CAT 2010, the CAT 2011 was highly successful with no major glitches reported from any test center in the country.
