Added: (Wed Mar 29 2006)

Kolkata, 24th March: Wipro Technologies conducted a two-day BEHAVIOURAL WORKSHOP at Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata on 23rd & 24th March,2006. The main objective of the seminar was to make the Campus-to-Corporate transition smooth. The seminar was organized for those B.Tech students of the 2006 pass-out batch of Heritage Institute of Technology who have been recruited by Wipro Technologies a year back. Incidentally, the latter recruited 73 students of the 2006 pass-out batch at that time. The talent transformation cell of Wipro headed by Mr. Avinash, one of the top trainers associated with the company put the students into a lot of activities. The program stared with a slow mode with some motivational speech by him but the pace of the program accelerated once the students were made to participate in various activities. The activities devised by the trainer were all innovative. In one instance, the each of the participant was provided with one balloon and a toothpick. The idea of the game was to deflate others balloons and in the process protecting his/her own. He or she who would be left with an intact balloon finally would be declared the winner. This game was a management game where the participants were made to understand the need of a group effort besides caring for others. Then the participants were divided into small groups and each group was provided with a ball of wool which they had to weave among themand once the web was completed among the group members then the web was weaved intra-group wise. Finally, only woolen webs were visible in the seminar hall in place of the human beings. This was an effort for team building purpose.

Beside these management games, a fashion show and a musical programme was organized in the second day. Anirban Ganguly and Suyash Choudhury came out to be great performers in the musical extravaganza. The fashion show also lit up the ramp in the dying part of the day. Puja, Prachita, Debrupa, Joyeeta did a great job with their unique style and mannerism to make the event a success.

The programme ended on a high note with the vocal tonic of Mr. Avinash who had gained immense popularity among the students since the inception of the program.
