APlusReports.com Bids Bienvenue to All Things French During Month of Events for Writing Staff

Pressbox (Press Release) - French customers, from wherever they hail, are a welcome and significant segment of APlusReports.com’s client base. We appreciate this support, and strive to serve these customers fully. While we can’t all become fluent in French right away, we can learn more about French-speaking regions where our francophone clients live. To this end, APlusReports.com will throw a month-long series of events, tastings, and presentations to introduce the culture, food, and history of France, and former French colonies. There will be a mix of serious and fun presentations, ranging from a brief introduction to existentialism, to screenings of Jacques Tati comedy.

On the very academic end of activities, we will also examine the uniquely French Commission Generale de Terminologie et de Neologie. This special governmental agency polices the purity of the French language. For light relief, the lunch/dinner table will be set with a rotating array of tastings (this is a 24/7 operation). The staff will experience

French artisanal cheeses (and wine!),

Quebecois cheeses and maple syrup,

Cajun etouffee, boudin, gumbo, and beignets with chickory-laced coffee.

North African and Creole dishes such as rice and beans and cous-cous

APlusReports.com management will act as dj’s, airing appropriate music to match each cuisine (Canadian music includes something for every age group – Paul Anka, Celine Dion, and Justin Bieber ). Some APlusReports.com staffers may not have heard much world music in French, but this is their chance!

In between the food fests, there will be some very serious presentations on French history, including careful attention to France’s colonial relationships. APlusReports.com will look closely at the impact on current French language, music, and culture of these populations. We will have a special introduction to backslang, the youth variant on standard French. APlusReports.com writers will emerge from their immersion in all things French possessed of a greater appreciation for our Francophone customers’ special needs.
