Christmas Vacation Week at Mountain View Grand: There’s no more hustling and bustling time of year than Christmas vacation week at Mountain View Grand. The spirit of Santa is in the frosty air and kids of all ages are aflutter with holiday cheer. Guests are gobbling down Christmas treats from our on-site restaurants, then putting on their boots for a wide variety of fun activities right on the property such as, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snow tubing and much more! On Christmas day guests can enjoy brunch from 10am – 2pm in the Crystal Ballroom. There will be a wide array of tasty items from the omelet and waffle stations to a raw bar. New Years Eve – Great Musical Decades and a Feast: For New Year’s Eve, Mountain View Grand will be greeting 2011 in grand style with an evening gourmet buffet dinner and live, one-of-a-kind retrospective of the decades of our musical lives featuring Joey Burtin and his amazing Mountain View House Band. From the roaring 20’s, through the doo-wop 50’s to the Woodstock and Beatles 60’s and 70’s, on into the good-timey electronic dance tunes of the most current generations. The Grand Buffet itself will feature our famous and amazing raw bar, seafood bisque and smoked venison stew, a carving station featuring prime rib of beef, a filet of salmon en croute and rack of lamb with apple mint chutney, entrées including petite filet Oscar, scallop-stuffed shrimp and pork tenderloin with Sauce Robert, and a decadent dessert selection from Executive Pastry Chef Cedric Beguin. Kids will be having plenty of fun activities, too, with their own Grand Buffet ($25 per child, ages 4-12) in Presidential Hall, with great chow-down favorites like macaroni and cheese, chicken fingers, hot dogs, pizza, salads, and a make-your-own sundae bar. There will be games, karaoke contests, movies, and more. The adults' Grand Buffet ($75 per person) will be held in the Crystal Ballroom from 6:30 to 10 p.m., with Joey and the band working their magic from 9 until midnight when everyone gathers as the grand fireworks display blasting a rainbow of colors into the winter skies.
