Zee Knickers and Zee Bra!
Dirty Knickers, the festival-born underwear brand famous for cheeky images and personalisation, has launched into fabric prints.
Their new ‘Concrete Jungle’ range features a striking zebra print across their range of seven styles.
The idea was inspired by Dirty Knickers’ eastern European model Asia Konka who said that she loved “zee knickers” but asked “why don’t you make zee bra too?” Mishearing Managing Director Mark Playne said “I thought the zebra print was a great idea, and could not resist the idea of a producing the ‘ZeeBra’.
ZeeBra - 3 tops in one
“Girls in the UK statistically have the largest average breast size in Europe so we set about designing a top that would fit across a huge size range and be great as a stand alone bikini top” said Mark
The unique design of two separate halves which can be tied in a variety of styles, means it is effectively 3 tops in one and will fit 80% of women.
Mantanga
Customer demand has also led to the launch of a range for men – in the same striking print.
Women were screaming at us that they wanted a G-String for their men, and some men were even trying to wear our ladies G-string, so it was time to cater for this demand,” said Mark
“The result aptly named the Mantanga, is pure retro Tarzan kitsch and it’s proving to be a sell-out.”
For men who prefer more modesty, the remodelled Trunks with a slightly longer leg and condom pocket are also available in the Zebra print and stock black.
The new range also has a matching Mini skirt, a head bandana called 4hed and a restyled Tanga g-string.
New Pattern Designer
The DK reputation for high quality garments has been spreading, in their new push to take on the big boys brought in a new super designer for the refined remodelling of all their styles, who’d previously designed for several big name retailers including Marks and Spencer.
Fabric
Dirty Knickers has manufactured their own fabric for the new designs, a mixture of modal* 45%, cotton 45% and Elastaine 10%, tested to stay in shape, keep its colour with great moisture holding properties (hence a superbly fresh feeling fabric), ideal in the toughest conditions, including festivals, surfing and extreme sports.
