The Maxwell brothers of WM Design take bespoke, interior grace to new limits – and prove their new coffee table design has legs (exquisite oak ones of course)
DESIGN studio and contemporary furniture showroom, Wayne Maxwell Design present the Ulwembu coffee table; a valiant new offering in their philosophy on elegant, innovative modern living.
With a striking base, well-crafted from unyielding European oak, roofed with 10mm of toughened glass, it’s easy to imagine the Ulwembu – ‘Spider’ in Zulu - as something of a behemoth animal; Rigid, severe and inflexible. But the table’s robust yet humble, unassuming appearance takes you immediately and leads your attention on a tour of its smooth lines and sophisticated design. You are made aware very quickly that this is a nimble, agile creature. So much so, that you can envisage Ulwembu crawling around your living room with eloquent aplomb.
