Well known Optometrist chooses independent opticians

Local residents can now benefit from the skills of a very experienced Optometrist that has chosen to work for an independent Optician, having left a national multiple after 22 years.
Robert Dearie is now working for Barraclough and Stiles Opticians which has branches in Eastbourne, Seaford, Polegate, Bexhill-on-Sea, St Leonards-on-Sea and Battle. He had previously worked at Boots for 22 years.
Robert said “I am delighted that I am able to have more time with each person so that I can really tailor an optical solution to suit their lifestyle. The environment at Barraclough and Stiles is very friendly and relaxed which is great for the customer. The business also provides me with all the latest technology and has facilities for retinal scanning along with computerised eye test charts.”
Barraclough and Stiles is the only optician in the Eastbourne area that has invested in the Optomap product. This non-invasive equipment provides an ultra-wide and detailed retinal scan. An image is produced in less than a second for the patient and optometrist to view and keep on file for comparison.
The company’s MD, Jeremy Heynes, said “As an independent, community based family Opticians, we aim to build a friendly relationship with our customers by ensuring that we have plenty of time with them. We have committed to investing in the latest optical equipment so that we can look at the full health of our customer’s eyes.
