Pressbox (Press Release) - What made a successful woman in the world of insurance turn to tattoos?

For most people a tattoo is forever, that was the inspiration behind a new website, www.newtattoo4u.com, to give people the time to choose their tattoo in familiar surroundings rather than a studio, which many find intimidating.

Three months ago Julie Gowland was a 41 year old Development Manager from the North East at a proverbial crossroads in life.

Having been the victim of downsizing in the ever changing world of the insurance market, she faced the decision of whether to look for work in the often insecure but familiar world of insurance or to take a risk and set-up her own business.

Inspired by the versatility of the internet she looked for opportunities to exploit this medium to its fullest potential.

A chance discussion with friends about their experience of tattoos and tattoo studios gave her the idea for an online tattoo gallery.

It appeared that although none of her friends regretted having a tattoo, many were unhappy with their choice of design.

As the discussion continued they all agreed that the unfamiliar surroundings of the tattoo studio had caused them to choose a design too hastily.

“This is why I decided if you can choose your car insurance or buy your supermarket shopping over the internet why shouldn’t you take the time and pick a design that is right for you.”

The site is designed for people who don’t have the time to visit a tattoo studio or do not have the skills to design their own tattoo. They can browse, select and purchase tattoo designs from the comfort of their own PC.

The site also provides free details on tattoo studios all over the UK so that once a customer has purchased a design they can arrange to have it applied at the tattooist of their choice.

Her internet site is colorful and easy to navigate with a large range of original designs that are updated regularly; much of the artwork is submitted by local artists who earn a commission on every image sold.

Student, Michaela, who regularly submits art to the site added: “It is a great way to earn money for doing something I really enjoy; if it wasn’t for this site I would probably have stopped drawing.”
