Unlimited access to all three credit agencies for less than £5 per month

Added: (Wed Aug 10 2005)

Checkmyfile.com has launched a new service which will enable consumers to keep track of all three credit reference agencies for less than £5 per month.

Checkmyfile.com was the first company in the UK to provide credit files online to consumers and the first in the World to lift the veil on credit scoring by providing free credit scores to consumers accompanied by plain English explanations.

Its Comprehensive Report Online now gives the purchaser the choice of which of the three UK agencies to be searched. The results are presented in the same, easy to understand format to help consumers compare how each of the agencies present their personal information to lenders. The Comprehensive Report Online based on one agency is now £6.95, or £16.95 for a Triple Agency Report. Unlimited access to the Triple Agency Report, including detailed credit score and credit rating analysis, costs £14.95 per quarter.

“This is truly groundbreaking for UK consumers” says Barry Stamp, Joint Managing Director of checkmyfile.com. “This service will allow anyone to keep tabs on the information held about them by all three agencies. We present credit files in a consistent way, designed specifically to help consumers understand the contents of their files, so it’s easy to see what’s good and bad, and in particular, we automatically highlight missing information which is not always obvious to anyone but an expert.”

Checkmyfile.com continues to provide free credit matching services – advising consumers of credit card and loans matched to their credit standing. “We use credit scoring to turn the tables on lenders” adds Stamp. “Lenders use credit scoring to select which applicants to take, whereas we use it to help consumers find lenders who are most likely to lend to them. Our independent commentary on the good and bad aspects of each card or loan ensures that our customers can find not only the best deal, but also the cheapest APR they are likely to qualify for. Our annual Banking and Credit Card Survey gives us valuable feedback on lenders who don’t come up to scratch and we don’t include lenders with poor customer service feedback in our selections.”

The information made available from each of the three agencies varies significantly and checkmyfile.com provides a simple and free comparison service to help point out the differences. Customers finding any errors on their credit files, or find points needing clarification, can either email checkmyfile.com for unbiased and expert advice or can phone their freephone number 0800 612 0421.
