Pressbox (Press Release) -
High Wycombe furniture maker,Stewart Linford, is turning back the clocks this week to 1976, the year his business started.
Stewart Linford is well known not only for his furniture, but also for constructing the Chair Arch in the centre of High Wycombe, appearing on Japanese and British television and making a chair for the Queen to mark her Golden Jubilee.
For this week only, stock item prices for many items have been returned to those charged when the business was started in 1976. Those prices are a lot lower than those his high quality furniture now commands. His furniture is better known for values which go up rather than down, especially his limited editions, some of which have increased in value by around 50% within two years.
The special silver jubilee furniture will be marked with solid silver plaques, whether it be a single chair or a bespoke cabinet.
Stewart Linford has his own silver hallmark for the specially cast solid silver fitments he incorporates on the limited editions such as the £30,000 limited edition Catherine of Aragon Desk.
The showroom and workshops will be exhibing an array of memorabilia depicting the designs and craftsmanship associated with 25 years of producing some of the finest hardwood furniture in the country. It is amazing to see the way our lives have changed in that time but many of the processes used here remain the same. Some of the workshops are visible from the showroom and full tours are offered to all who are interested.
It will be open house all this week at the showrooms and workshops at Kitchener Road, High Wycombe.
