Pressbox (Press Release) - The fastest growing online tools retailer Toolbox.co.uk expands its Ebay product offering

Toolbox the fastest growing online tools retailer has announced its mass expansion of its Ebay product offerings after seeing substantial traffic increases and sales over the first quarter of 2010. www.toolbox.co.uk

Toolbox launched its Ebay stop in July of 2009, and were seeing a moderate success when we reported on their ToolboxUK EBay shop back in December. However recent reports and figures claim that Toolbox have more than trebled its revenue stream from Ebay alone, which is an incredible figure considering the company itself is still in its infancy.

EBay is an online auction and shopping website in which people and businesses buy and sell a broad variety of goods and services worldwide. The majority of sales take place through a set-time auction format, but subsequent methods include a substantial segment of listings in the ‘Buy It Now’ category. EBay launched its services in the UK in 1999 and has proven to be a one stop shop for everything and anything, Toolbox just proves this with a lot of their Ebay sales being in expensive power tools.

The days of visiting a local big ‘shed’ are over in terms of purchasing power tools and accessories, hard to believe but considering the prices of the kit online and on Ebay itself it is completely understandable. Also with the increased buying protection of credit cards and also the Ebay owned ‘Paypal’, it is giving customers far more confidence than previously to experiment in Ebay shopping if they have never done so before.

Scott Morris, E-Commerce Manager of Toolbox said:

“With the addition of over 10,000 products to the main Toolbox.co.uk website in the last quarter it seemed silly not to want to replicate some of these new products on our Ebay store so as to try and cast a wider net on our target market. We have seen a great increase in Ebay sales over the first quarter of this year, which to be honest we were not expecting due to the end of the recession, however this possibly proves the government figures that people are choosing to improve rather than move homes.”

Toolbox have all the latest Cordless power tools on offer from all the biggest manufacturers, including, Draper, DeWalt, Bosch, Black & Decker, Silverline, Hitachi and Makita. As well as a huge selection of hard to find Power Tool Accessories, making searching for that spare part a lot easier.

Lee Taylor, General Manager of Toolbox said:

“We offer our website customers such amazing deals, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to expand our market and expand our EBay Shop. Everyone knows that EBay sells huge amounts of products everyday, and in some cases it is a customer’s first choice when looking for products. We are also looking at Ebay as the perfect outlet for our re-conditioned tools and open boxed products”

Toolbox is based in Evesham, Worcestershire and now employs 50 staff within their 2,000 sqm, purpose built warehouse and offices. The sister company Plumbworld had a turnover in 2008 in excess of £18 Million. Plumbworld was established in 1999 and was sold to The Grafton Group Plc in December 2006.
