The Snow Park helps to save Christmas

Added: (Mon Dec 17 2007)

Pressbox (Press Release) - Santa came to town today by paying an early visit to one very special little girl in Gravesend – but this year, he’s not using his sleigh…

Jamie-Leigh Harrington is 11 years old and suffers from Lymphangiomatosis, a life-threatening disease that means this Christmas may be her last. As an early present, her parents decided to completely decorate the outside of their house – but Vandals heartlessly ruined the display at the weekend by cutting the power cables and stealing inflatable decorations.

To help make Jamie-Leigh’s wrecked Christmas complete, The Snow Park at Diggerland Kent provided 6 tonnes of freshly made snow, and promptly set about turning her front garden into a winter wonderland!

Conducted in secret (Jamie-Leigh was out visiting relatives with her parents) and armed with snow, a JCB 3CX, a broom and some shovels, the Snow Park reps were on hand to personally ensure Jamie-Leigh would now be the happiest youngster in Kent – and with the assistance of local businesses (who provided new Christmas Lights and Inflatables), Police and Fire Services, a brass band, Shears Green School and the local community, this little girl had her wish come true!

The icing on the day for everyone involved was seeing Jamie-Leigh’s face as a local Santa arrived with a sack-full of presents in the bucket of a Diggerland JCB 3CX!!

If you want a white Christmas we can help you too. You can visit the Snow Park and experience over 100 tonnes of fresh real snow on our 50,000 sq ft slope, where you can snow tube, toboggan or build snowmen, and even ski and snowboard. Visit The Snow Park for the ‘Real Snow Outdoors Experience.’

The Snow Park is open weekends, 7 days a week during the holidays and is closed on bank holidays. Entry s £10 per person, minimum age restrictions apply.
