Text your poem to ABCtales.com

Added: (Fri Jul 27 2001)

Pressbox (Press Release) - ABCtales.com, the website for eager readers, aspiring writers and everyone with a story to tell, has joined forces with Secret Bear (http://www.secretbear.co.uk) to enable writers to submit poems to ABCtales via text message. Would-be Wordsworths can now send a poem of up to 150 characters to ABCtales using their phone. This is then added to the new SMS poetry section of ABCtales.com.

In addition, avid readers can get an SMS poem of the day sent to their mobile phone. This costs just 20p, and can help ABCtales raise money for The Big Issue’s social development fund.

Further developments to the site include:

· Literary directory for reading and writing fans
· Free peer-to-peer critiquing service
· ABCtales.com e-mail addresses for all subscribers

ABCtales.com has had almost 6,000 stories and poems uploaded to the site since its launch in December last year. The active discussion forum has attracted over 7,000 posts since it was added to the site in March and the ABCtales pocket-sized magazine has published the best writing from the site alongside original commissioned writing by Mo Mowlam, Suggs, and best selling childrens’ author Terry Deary.
