Developed by The Only Way to Travel, Inc., a travel agency specializing in cruise vacations, the video “Prepared for Your Cruise...The Only Way to Travel!” , addresses common concerns that first time cruisers have, such as: What paper work will one need? What type of clothing should one wear on board? How is tipping handled?
“We found that once our clients had made the decision to purchase their cruise, a lot of the same type of questions were being asked,” said Donna Wickerham, ACC, President of The Only Way to Travel, Inc. “Even though our agents review cruise information with clients, we thought that additional support materials would help clients retain more information. A video - which could be viewed in the comfort of the client’s own home - would help clients prepare for their first cruise.
W searched for a tool to answer our client’s general questions, not a piece to replace the client-agency relationship,” added Art Wickerham, ACC, Vice President of The Only Way to Travel, Inc. “We wanted to assist our clients in formulating specific questions they could bring back to the agent.”
In their search, the Wickerhams found that although videos were available from some cruise lines, these tend to be promotional in nature and specific to a particular cruise. All contained beautiful models, elegantly coifed, wearing expensive clothing. What the Wickerhams wanted was something that showed real people on real cruises. “Since we couldn’t find what we were looking for, we decided to take matters into our own hands,” said Donna. “We had lots of video footage from our cruises and figured we could just make our own video for our clients.”
The next thing they knew, their vacation in French Polynesia aboard the ms Paul Gauguin turned into a location shoot. The Wickerhams and their production crew spent a week shooting specific shots. “I have to admit”, said Art, “you couldn’t ask for any better back drop for a video.”
