RCI’s Call Centre Officially the Best in Britain!
RCI, the world’s leading timeshare exchange company and part of Cendant Corporation, was last night crowned Best Call Centre 2004 at the TTG British Travel Awards, the industry’s most prestigious awards ceremony.
Earlier in the year, TTG Regional Travel Awards recognised the operation with the Midlands Call Centre of the Year award. All regional winners were put through a rigorous voting and nomination process by leading industry experts, and RCI was judged to be the best of the best beating Harry Weeks Travel in the South of England and Gold Medal in the North.
Paul Carter, RCI’s vice president of travel, accepted the award and said:
“This is a fantastic achievement and deserved recognition from our industry partners, resulting from the ongoing dedication of RCI’s travel teams based in Kettering.”
He goes onto say:
“ Providing travel services to our members is a core element of our business and a key revenue earner. We are the preferred partner and number one distributor for many of our travel vendors, and as a result are able to leverage the best deals for our members. Combined with an excellent customer service record, we clearly have a winning formula on our hands, which certainly helped us to increase sales in what has been a challenging year for the industry.”
Important to the award win is RCI’s commitment to the continued development of servicing third party businesses in addition to its 450,000 European membership base. RCI’s experience in call centre operations and advanced technology has enabled it to win clients from the financial sector including Royal Bank of Scotland and Lloyds TSB through its relationship with Cendant International Membership Services (Cims).
Preben Vestdam, CEO RCI Europe & Middle East added: “Europe and the Middle East offers exciting opportunities for RCI and Cendant’s travel business. We are looking forward to building on our success next year by providing continued standards of excellence to our member base. In addition, we will be expanding areas of the business where we aim to leverage our core travel competencies and take advantage of synergies afforded to us by being part of Cendant Corporation.”
RCI’s Kettering office is no stranger to awards, winning the Best Large Call Centre title two years in succession (2002 and 2003) at the Agent Achievement Awards.
