Playing checkers can lead to excessive beer consumption.

Added: (Thu Sep 29 2005)

Pressbox (Press Release) - College researchers have discovered that students playing a version of checkers called "Beer Checkers" have been found intoxicated on campus.

Competitors play checkers in the normal fashion, but they use 1/2 full cups of beer instead of checkers. When a player gets their piece jumped, they must consume the beer in the cup.

When a cup reaches the opposite side, it is filled completely, representing a king.

Once a winner is declared, the losing player must finish all remaining drinks on the board.
