Starts: Petsitting - peace of mind for pet owners and a rewarding career for pet lovers!
National Petsitters' rapidly expanding membership means more pets can enjoy walks and pampering from a trained, insured and professional Petsitter. And more pet lovers can find their dream career - a job with animals'
Do you put off going on holiday because you don't want to leave your pet? Or maybe you'd like to go back to work but who's going to take the dog out? Asking your neighbour to keep an eye on your 'best friend' used to be the answer but with most people working full time, more and more people are turning to Dog Walkers and Petsitters.
For many the search for a Pet Carer begins with their local Vets. Here you can find advertisements promising you 'Care and attention for your pet' How many though, are trained, insured, reference checked and regulated? If they state that they are members of NARP - the National Association of Registered Petsitters, you know they are.
Fiona Mackenzie, who runs one of NARP's regional branches, states, "Petsitting is as vital as childminding and if you're hiring a Petsitter or Dog Walker, you need to be sure that they are trained, insured and will care for your pet as you would. Unfortunately many people are under the impression that if their pets are insured, it doesn't matter if the Petsitter isn't. But if your Petsitter or Dog Walker doesn't have Public Liability Insurance and causes accidental damage, then you as the pet's owner may become involved in costly litigation. Always ask to see proof of insurance."
NARP or 'National Petsitters' as it is more widely known, is the UK Trade Association for Petsitting and was founded ten years ago. This non-profit Association sets the standard for petsitting in this country. Funding comes mainly from the sale of their monthly Register of Petsitters. This list of Petsitters can be ordered either directly from www.thinkpets.com, or by phoning: 0118 983 2838.
Now you never have to worry about leaving your pet 'Home Alone'!
And if you fancy walking away from that desk and into the park with a couple of dogs at your feet or spending some time cuddling cats, pampering parrots or chatting with Carp, visit www.thinkpets.com or call Fiona on: 0118 983 2838 and ask how you too can become a National Petsitter.
