North West England hotel gears up for busiest year yet

Added: (Fri Jan 29 2010)

Pressbox (Press Release) - Hot on the heels of a successful 2009, the award winning, family owned Peckforton Castle – Cheshire’s magical medieval style castle built in the 1800s – is gearing up for what is set to be this prestigious hotel’s busiest year yet in 2010 with a mammoth renovation project to convert part of the Castle into additional, luxurious facilities.

Already underway, the renovation project will take six months and will see a hidden part of this magnificent, Grade I listed building transformed to accommodate a chic brasserie, a further ten en suite bedrooms and a number of beauty treatment rooms.

Chris Naylor, managing director, explains: “This is a crucial part of Peckforton’s rich tapestry. Our intention has always been to ensure we realise the Castle’s potential and deliver what guests want. The brasserie will provide a chic, informal meeting place and will be open to everyone. The extra bedroom capacity means we can accommodate even larger groups of leisure guests and larger corporate events. The beauty treatment rooms will enable guests and non-residents to take advantage of some holistic therapies and will provide an extra treat.”

Despite the high level of renovation activity taking place, visitors to Peckforton Castle will be unaware of the massive project taking place behind the scenes. Chris adds: “As we’re Grade I listed we can’t touch the exterior of the Castle. All renovation is indoors and taking place in a part of the Castle currently out of view of the public eye. You’d never know it was there. This means visitors will continue to enjoy the peace and beauty of the hotel’s spectacular surroundings.”

In the meantime it’s business as usual for the Castle with the number of wedding, leisure and corporate bookings continuing to grow at a steady pace. Once renovation work is complete, Peckforton Castle is planning a grand unveiling of the new facilities, set to take place in July 2010.
