Pressbox (Press Release) - NO CURRENCY OR FUEL SURCHARGES
GUARANTEED!
FOR ALL 09 HIGH ARCTIC AND 09-10 ANTARCTIC VOYAGES

Unlike other travel companies who have responded to currency and fuel price fluctuations by adding surcharges to their prices, or have left it open to do so in the future, the good news from Peregrine Adventures is that due to some very careful financial planning in early 2008, all of its Arctic 09 and Antarctic 09-10 departures come with a guarantee of the voyage price… This means that travellers can book and have the confidence and added security that the voyage price they see on Peregrine’s website is the price they will end up paying, that no currency or fuel surcharges will be added. The news gets even better with Peregrine’s standard booking conditions applying, so there is no need to pay in full at time of booking for the guarantee to apply. Peregrine has availability on two of its expedition voyages for 2009-10 – the Svalbard in Depth departing London 20th June 2009 and Antarctic Circle Quest departing Ushuaia 7th January 2010…

Svalbard in Depth: 14-night expedition voyage departing London 20th June 09.

Join Peregrine’s Polar expert, Alex Burridge, on a fully escorted expedition voyage exploring the magnificent islands of the Svalbard archipelago. Experience dazzling glaciers, icy fjords, snow-capped mountains and amazing wildlife – polar bears, walrus, whales and vast seabird rookeries. Peregrine’s expedition voyage departs from the township of Longyearbyen, on Spitsbergen, the major island of Svalbard. The Peregrine ‘small ship experience’ allows travellers to choose their level of adventure - from sea kayaking and hiking ashore, to zodiac explorations of ice-filled bays and rugged coastlines. This expedition has a particular focus on photography, painting and wildlife. Being a slightly longer voyage, wildlife encounters are maximised and photographic opportunities are huge.
The voyage costs from £5,253 p/p (twin share on the main deck) including an escort by Alex from London, economy flights from London to Oslo, and Oslo to Longyearbyen return transfers, 2-nights pre-tour and 1-night post-tour accommodation, shipboard accommodation, all meals onboard, photography and art workshops, onboard lectures, videos, slide and film shows, daily shore and Zodiac excursions, and highly experienced expedition leader, crew and lecturers.

Antarctic Quest Circle: 13-night voyage departing Ushuaia 7th January 10.

An exciting expedition thoroughly exploring the South Shetland region and Antarctic Peninsula, searching out breathtaking bays and islands aboard Peregrine’s well-appointed vessel. The South Shetland islands boast an abundance of wildlife, including five seal species and massive penguin rookeries of Gentoo, Adelies and Chinstraps, plus a profusion of seabirds from albatross to skuas. A wildlife highlight may well be watching a variety of magnificent whale species in close proximity as they crest the surface of the waves. On the Peninsula, Peregrine expects to visit Paradise Harbour, dotted with spectacular icebergs, beautiful Hope Bay, and if ice conditions permit, the superb Lemaire Channel characterised by glacial walls rising high on both sides. Zodiac cruises, sea kayaking and hiking are all on offer, and if conditions are suitable, there’s even the chance to camp ashore on the vast expanse of continental ice.
The voyage costs from £5,310 p/p (twin share on the main deck) including arrival transfer, shipboard accommodation, all meals onboard, daily shore and zodiac boat excursions, overnight camping (subject to suitable weather), onboard lectures, videos, slide and film shows, and highly experienced expedition leader, crew and lecturers.
