London, United Kingdom – September 20, 2006 – It has just been said that; “one of the greatest mistakes seen in schools across the world was to teach girls about the wrong type of bra. Whilst most young women endured their fair share of algebra at school, many millions are now enduring years of wearing the wrong bra – and the consequences!”

Women spend so much time, effort and money on their skin, legs and hair. Many go out looking like a million dollars – until you take a look at their breasts (covered of course). Whilst a woman’s blouse might have cost $100 or more, the bra that holds their breasts in place is often completely the wrong one.

According to a national fit study by Wacoal this year, eight out of ten women in the U.S. or nearly 90 million women over the age of 18 are wearing the wrong size bra. The Wacoal study, conducted among 750 women, also reveals that the most common mistake made by women is wearing a bra in which the band is too big and the cups too small, with an estimated 35 million women making this mistake alone.

Whilst this is nothing new, there is no indication that the situation has been getting any better. The disturbing fact remains that most women are walking the streets in bras that are not doing them any favors or give them very much comfort.

When it comes to women and exercise, things get even more serious as the University of Portsmouth in England pointed out earlier this year. In their Shock Absorber Breast Movement Study showed that during exercise, breast movement results in pain and discomfort, which is temporary; and a stretching of the Cooper's ligament, which is permanent and leads to irreversible breast sag.

Perhaps the tongue in cheek comment about teaching girls ‘algebra’ at school instead of teaching them about ‘the right bra’ has some truth in it after all. Perhaps 90 million American women are simply lacking some education on the subject.

Author Martha Parkinson said, “Every woman has a right to look and feel great in a bra. This will help give them greater comfort and self-confidence, as they go about their daily lives. Every woman deserves Happy Breasts”.
This week, the previously unknown writer; Martha Parkinson, launched her Ebook, “How to Look and Feel Great in a Bra”. The compilation of over 20,000 words and 11 chapters is thought to be ‘an education’ to help women all over the world do just as the title says. Perhaps it’s the text book they should have read at school. A free limited version of the Ebook is available for download at www.my-bra.com
