MRC WINS TOP FOOD SECTOR AWARD

Specialist supplier of glazes, marinades, coatings, seasonings and sauces, the Manchester Rusk Company is celebrating once again after collecting an important accolade - an impressive fifth award win for the company this year.
The Food Manufacture Excellence Awards are regarded as one of the most prestigious in the industry and at the event held at the Marriott Hotel in London’s Grosvenor Square, MRC came out on top in the Ambient and General Groceries category.
The business was judged against a set of criteria including market strategy, product development, Investors in People, quality assurance and impact on the environment.
In their feedback the competition judges said they were impressed with MRC’s growth and its ambitious nature. One judge said: “My heart went out to MRC. The company demonstrates impressive growth and great key performance indicators.”
In addition they said: “The firm has a good foothold in the retail market and there was real substance to its entry.”
MRC’s production manager Dave Wheeler commented: “We are very proud to have been chosen as the top company in this category against great competition. This award covers our whole business practice - so it has been a massive morale boost for staff to have their efforts and hard work recognised in this way.”
