The infamous Russ Swift, who has appeared on BBC's Top Gear, will be demonstrating his amazing car stunts at this year's Heritage Land Rover Weekend. Visitors to the show will have the rare opportunity to see Land Rovers being driven from four to two wheels, in a spectacular display. This year's show takes place on the May Day Bank Holiday weekend (Saturday and Sunday 5-6 May 2007) at the Heritage Motor Centre, just off junction 12 of the M40 in Gaydon, Warwickshire.
The Show will be opened by BBC 2's radio presenter Lynne Bowles, who will be providing commentary throughout the show. Highlights of this year's show include outdoor activities with off-road rides on the Land Rover 4x4 course, Mont Blanc climbing wall, Inter-club challenge, talks from the design studio at Land Rover, club and trade stands, twist off challenges and awards. Overnight camping and evening entertainment is also available over the weekend.
Emma Rawlinson Event organiser said: "This is a fun, action-packed day out for Land Rover Enthusiasts old and new, where we aim to gather together as many variations of the famous marque in one place as possible."
Sunday morning (6 May) will see a cavalcade of over a hundred special classic Land Rovers from the Association of Land Rover Clubs, taking part in the annual Heritage Run from Solihull to Gaydon led by the Heritage Motor Centre's oldest production Land Rover "Hue."
A special display of the Heritage Motor Centre's collection of Land Rovers, sponsored by Land Rover Classic Parts, will be on show. The temporary display has been exclusively designed for this year, whilst the museum is closed for its one million pound Heritage Lottery funded redevelopment.
The show opens at 12pm - 5pm on Saturday, with evening entertainment running until 12am. The show continues on Sunday starting at 10am, finishing at 5pm. For ticket prices and further show information log on to www.hlrw.co.uk. Tickets can now be booked online.
