ESTATE REARED JAMES MARTIN IS A KEY INGREDIENT FOR ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL RYEDALE FESTIVAL OF FOOD AND DRINK
Fresh from his success in Strictly Come Dancing, Celebrity Chef James Martin is looking forward to dazzling the crowds at the Ryedale Festival of Food and Drink on 28th and 29th May at Castle Howard, York.
James Martin, who was raised on Castle Howard Estate, will headline the festival cookery theatre. He said: “As a supporter of local produce, I am delighted to be participating in the Ryedale Festival of Food and Drink. Coming back to Castle Howard is returning home for me, and being able to do so while championing the best of Yorkshire’s food and drink is the perfect way to do it.”
An all-weather marquee will host the cookery theatre and exhibitor stands. Visitors will be treated to cookery demonstrations from James Martin and other top Yorkshire chefs; they will also have the opportunity to sample and buy from a range of local producers and growers. An informative programme of food tutorials is also planned; along with music and family entertainment.
Castle Howard owner, The Hon. Simon Howard, said, “Castle Howard is thrilled to be involved with the festival again this year. We received such positive feedback last year, from visitors and exhibitors alike, which proves there remains a strong interest in local produce. It is also an excellent event for Ryedale, raising its profile within the county”.
The Ryedale Festival of Food and Drink is once again supported by Ryedale District Council, North Yorkshire County Council, Deliciouslyorkshire and Castle Howard.
