Instant Garden Proves A Hit

Pressbox (Press Release) -
Desk bound executives and computer-obsessed students have found a lazy way to get involved in gardening by buying an instant garden over the internet.
The garden that can cheer up a patio, balcony or even inside an office has proved a massive hit after being launched by an online garden centre. Buyers just have to set up an alert on their computer to remind them to water the plants!
The Autumn Container produced by www.gardencentre.co.uk includes soil, plants and a pine window box to grow them in – providing probably the laziest way to do gardening ever invented.
Peter Howarth of gardencentre.co.uk said: “The popularity of the Autumn Container has surprised us. We designed it to be used as a patio tub if you have a large garden; on a balcony or window sill if you have an apartment or indoors in the office or flat.
“But it has really taken off and that is probably because it requires so little effort to set up with everything you need in one box and simple instructions on putting it together.
“We are advising people to set up an alert on their computer, which can easily be done in Microsoft Outlook, so that they remember to water the container. If they do that then using the plants and bulbs supplied they are pretty well guaranteed a colourful display right through the winter and into the spring.”
The plants included in the package are hardy and will therefore survive throughout the winter. A variety of alpine plants are included to add texture, whilst the pansies and primroses add colour and interest. The bulbs provide a further dash of vibrant colour in spring.
The £34.99 package includes the rustic container; compost, two ivy plants, two primrose plants, five alpine plats, a tray of nine pansies and two packs of spring bulbs.
