Green mums save waste and money!

Pressbox (Press Release) -
A staggering 60,000 auctions have been listed on www.usednappies.co.uk since mum of two Sarah Bennett set up the site in April 2007. Providing an auction service for parents to buy and sell used washable nappies, The Used Nappy Company was soon firmly established as the number 1 site in the UK for second-hand cloth nappies, with over 1,000 auctions listed every month.
By recycling and reselling their babies cloth nappies, parents who use the service are helping to reduce the number of disposables used in the UK and ultimately ending up in landfill. www.usednappies.co.uk really is doubly eco-friendly! The site is also a great way for parents to try cloth nappies at a lower cost than buying brand new.
Many parents love the funky designs, the comfort factor for their babies and that washable nappies have been proved, without a doubt, to be better for the environment.* And of course, the fact that parents can save hundreds of pounds, compared to the cost of disposables is a huge bonus.
Parents can now also sell baby/child/maternity clothes and other baby related items on the site – it pays to be ‘green’ and recycle on www.usednappies.co.uk especially with fees considerably cheaper than some of the larger auction sites.
James considers this “a wonderful site - without it I would have nowhere else to sell these nappies. You're doing a first class job for buyers and sellers alike”. Deborah rates the attention to customer care highly: ‘“Your service, as always, is excellent! I recommend you all the time!’’
Did you know, a staggering 8 million disposable nappies are thrown away EVERY DAY in the UK? Washable cloth nappies offer parents an alternative to disposables, providing the opportunity to reduce their total household waste and the impact on the environment. With fortnightly rather than weekly waste collection in some areas, now is the ideal time for more parents to try out cloth nappies. Why fill your wheelie bin with disposable nappies every fortnight? By using washable nappies, parents can make a significant difference to the amount of waste they dispose of.
