Emerging artist from Israel seeks global representation for his art.
After several years in the local Israeli Art scene, Tslil Censor,
ceramics artist and potter, is going global. The 32-year-old artist
is something of a late bloomer in the art world. Born 1969 in
Chicago Illinois he was educated both in Israel and the USA.
He holds a B.A in Philosophy and Fine Arts from Ben-Gurion
University of the Negev in Beer-Sheva Israel. Art was always
in the background, but it was not until 1997 that he made the
decision to be a full time ceramic artist. Since then he has established
the Earth Wind & Fire pottery where he creates and sells his art.
The Leach and Hamada school, as well as Michael Cardew and other
masters from the early 20th century, heavily influence the high-fired
stoneware he creates. It is clearly evident however, that this influence
did not stifle his self-expression. His work possesses a certain maturity
and depth which reflects years of experience, while maintaining a fresh
and surprising perspective on contemporary ceramics. This unique mixture
between the traditional and the new has a powerful effect on his creations
as well as those who view and handle them.
Currently seeking International gallery representation,
Tslil intends to expose the world to his work in the hope of reviving old
traditions combined with new and exciting aesthetics.
