Consumers Set To Make Big Savings With New Website

Columbus, Ohio, Dec 16 2005 — New website www.policeandgovernmentauctions.com is set to offer consumers big savings in the run up to Christmas on items ranging from electrical goods and home furnishings to even cars and property.
Created by retired Ohio Police Officer – Jim Harris, the website details the savings to be found at police and government auctions, in both the US and UK. The website also tells consumers where they can find their own local auction and tips and advice on what to look out for at auction.
“Working as a cop for 15 years, I became aware of the bargains to be had at these auctions where the police force would auction unclaimed and seized goods to the public. I was very surprised at how little people new about police and government auctions, particularly in the UK, so I decided to create my website,” said Jim Harris, creator.
PoliceandGovernmentAuctions.com also gives consumers information on which items can be purchased cheaply from police and government auctions and then resold for a higher price at venues such as eBay.
“Popular goods such as iPods and DVD Players are frequently up for grabs in police and government auctions at a fraction of the retail price, so the opportunity for consumers to make a profit by reselling items is great,” claimed Harris.
Harris was said to be “thrilled” at the initial success of the website, when it attracted over one thousand visitors within the first twenty-four hours of its launch yesterday.
“I hope that people will find the information on my site as useful as it has been for me in discovering items at low prices from police and government auctions,” said Harris.
The website address is: www.policeandgovernmentauctions.com
