Blue2Space opens new Southern European subsidiary

New Paris Subsidiary further extends Blue2Space’s European presence

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, 21 May 2001 – Blue2space, a Swedish company specialised in wireless networking solutions within the Bluetooth standard, founded in 2000 with Headquarters in Stockholm, today announced the opening of a Paris office and the appointment of Mr Jérôme Mauduit as Regional Manager for Southern Europe.

By establishing the company in France, Blue2Space extends its European presence and moves further towards its vision to be the worldwide leading supplier of extended-range Bluetooth networks.

Based in Paris, Jérôme Mauduit will focus his efforts on implementing a two-tier distribution channel throughout Southern Europe, selecting value-added partners: distributors and master resellers. He will oversee all sales, marketing and communications activities in this territory.

The first products available are the :

“Blueball Communicator”, a true “plug-and-play” wireless adapter for Bluetooth, which can be connected to any PC, PDA or other device to provide full wireless networking.

“Bluball Accessor”, a specially-developed high-gain antenna, able to extend the Bluetooth communication range up to 1000 meters.

“The opening of our French subsidiary and the valuable addition of Jérôme to our management team, are two major steps towards our continued growth” said Richard Bohannan, CEO and founder of Blue2Space.

Prior to joining Blue2Space, Mauduit held a similar position within OLICOM, a manufacturer of networking products. He was responsible for the Southern European subsidiary which he opened in 1994. In 1999 when Madge acquired OLICOM, he ensured the merger of the two companies and re-established the credibility of Madge’s new organisation in France.

“I am sure that by implementing a distribution channel, signing agreements with high-performance partners, sales of Blueball networking products will quickly take off in Southern Europe” said Bohannan before adding “Jérôme shares our strategy and will ensure our implementation and expansion in this territory.”
