Australian Travel Specialist Predicts Travel Boom
Added: (Tue Mar 14 2006)
Early predictions by Aussie experts Oz Talk are that 2006-07 will be the greatest year yet for Australian travel. Last year saw record-breaking figures for international flights into Oz, with an annual increase of 7.7 % to 20.9 million passengers. National averages showed visitor numbers 5% up on the previous year.
The current nationwide “Where the bloody hell are you?” advertising campaign – and the controversy surrounding it - is already paying dividends in increased booking enquiries, and the impending Ashes clash has focussed attention firmly on Australia for the end of 2006.
General Manager (and Australian) Kane Gordon is confident: “I’ve never seen such interest in my country as there is at the moment. The ad campaign is helping, but it’s also true that Australia has so much to offer now. The range of holidays is vast and there’s really something for everyone.”
Sales Manager Chris Forde is seeing the rush of interest daily: “Booking numbers are unprecedented. The Ashes packages are flying out, the Commonwealth Games have been a big pull and the current cold weather is making a lot of people think about the sun. As the leading independent Aussie specialist, Oz Talk can tailor any holiday to the traveller’s requirements, so we’re creating bespoke holidays every day.”
Oz Talk’s advice is to book early to avoid disappointment later. Contact: www.oztalk.co.uk or call 0870 0663 123.
