Astronomical romance with stellar views of Loch Earn

Added: (Sun Oct 12 2008)

Do starry nights, a moon lit loch, highland hue’s, stags, towering hills, a castle and a resident sea plane sound like the perfect backdrop for your honeymoon, anniversary or romantic getaway? Then check into Little Briar holiday cottage on the shores of Loch Earn, in the heart of Scotland.

Elevated behind the owners three hundred year old thatched cottage, the south facing, detached stone building, boasts the best views of Loch Earn towards Ben Vorlich and Edinample Castle. Lack of city smog is not the only factor that enables stellar views. Lochearnhead's residents have never succumbed to street lighting, preferring to bathe in the subtle and unique lighting that only the moon and stars can offer.

Owners Kim and Fraser Proven invite guests to walk freely around the two acre grounds which include; a paddock, flowing burn, ornamental furniture, barbeque, a chiminee as well as a two hundred and fifty foot garden on the shore with picnic tables, a double swing, summerhouse, jetty and slipway. The welcoming hosts will invite you to join them for a drink under the 17th century cruck framed timber ceiling in their lounge and if you are keen, they will hand over the keys to their hot tub.

There are some excellent eateries within a 15 mile radius from phone-in to pub grub to fine dining at Monachyle Mhor. Within a 200 metres stroll from the garden gates are the Clachan offering cosy bar meals and the chef owned Lochearnhead Hotel providing an excellent dinner menu.

Loch Earn is the most central Loch in Scotland; what better location to see the major tourist towns villages and attractions in any direction. Golf, walking and cycling enthusiasts will be in their element with water sports and fishing on the doorstep in season.

Whether you are interested in a romantic interlude, recuperation, the outdoors, nature, history, a touring base within Scotland or the constellations, Little Briar cottage’s unique location, can not fail to deliver.
