ARE BACK TO WORK BLUES CUTTING SHORT OUR HOLIDAYS?

Added: (Tue Oct 07 2008)

Pressbox (Press Release) - French holiday parc specialist siblu is encouraging families to book an extra buffer day after their holiday and before their return to work, to help manage the anxiety of going back to the office after a break away.

Recent research by electrical appliance manufacturer Indesit has found that almost 40% of people cut short their weekend by answering work emails on a Sunday to help manage their week at work.

The natural progression of this, say siblu, is to spend less time relaxing on holiday and more time feeling anxious about heading back to work, so the company is calling for a buffer day which people can use to catch up before starting back in the office.

Daniel Johnson, siblu PR manager says: “Many people already feel as though they don’t have enough time to relax and unwind, so our family holidays should be sacrosanct.

“At siblu holidays, we think there are many things people can do to increase their relaxation. Technology-lite holidays, such as camping in France, are more restful because they give us a complete change of environment.

“Going back to nature, playing catch with the kids, eating outdoors, no TV - this really is a total change to our home life.

“We need to protect our traditional family break and find a way to stop worklife eating into the time we spend enjoying ourselves, and a buffer day between our holiday and work could be the answer.”
