Toronto, ON - February 4, 2004, The Claxton Group, announces the release of ContactGenie DataPorter 2.0, a powerful unique contact/sales lead importing and distribution tool for Microsoft Outlook 2000-2003 owners who require support for Outlook's custom forms, user-defined fields, updating of pre-existing contacts, and/or repetitive unattended scheduled operation using any task scheduler.
ContactGenie DataPorter 2.0, available in Professional, Personal and Personal Remote editions, is an indispensable time-saving tool for anyone who has specialized importing requirements and/or receives new contact information on a regular basis from sources such as suppliers, call centers, websites, lead generation services and trade shows. It is also ideally suited for organizations that need to distribute this data to internal or external members. Anyone who has ever needed to import custom data into or distribute this data from Microsoft Outlook will quickly appreciate DataPorter's power, flexibility, and convenience.
The program's many features include the ability to:
- map to custom forms and user-defined fields not otherwise possible
- create user-defined selection criteria for data to be imported
- update existing contacts based on user-defined "key-field" criteria

- delete existing duplicates in contact folders

Information can be extracted and imported from all major file formats which include Microsoft SQL (Pro only), Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visual FoxPro, MySQL, dBase, comma-separated (CSV), tab-delimited, custom delimited files and XML. The program can also simultaneously generate XML output files of selected data which can be used in any DataPorter edition or other 3rd party applications.
The companion DataPorter Personal Remote edition is a cost effective method for an organization to distribute contact information via DataPorter XML files while still enabling the recipient full control over the import criteria. The DataPorter Corporate Remote edition is a free companion product to the Pro edition with no user-interface intended for those environments requiring full centralized control of how and where distributed information is imported on a local desktop. All editions can run in an automated unattended fashion accessing data files on a central server.
For one-time, ad-hoc, or special project based conversion and data importing requirements, DataPorter is also available on a 30, 60, and 90 day lease basis.
The cost of ContactGenie DataPorter 2.0 is $379 for the Pro Edition and $179 for the Personal Edition. It is available for immediate download with no time-limit or feature restrictions other then being limited to importing 50 records while in evaluation mode. Specialized versions can be tailored to individual requirements on request.
