Waterloo, ON, Canada November 19, 2001 -- Reqwireless Inc. (http://www.reqwireless.com) released a preview version of its web toolkit software for J2ME MIDP, the Java wireless platform.
ReqwirelessWeb provides a Java API for fetching and rendering Web pages on J2ME MIDP devices.
With support for HTML forms, image maps, GIFs, and JPEGs, ReqwirelessWeb gives access to the real Web, not limiting users to WAP or Compact HTML.
ReqwirelessWeb uses a servlet/proxy architecture that fetches Web pages, cleans and simplifies the HTML, and converts images into the format, size, and colour depth required for the device.
Reqwireless Inc. builds application programmer interfaces for J2ME MIDP, the Java platform for cell-phone and PDA applications. Visit http://www.reqwireless.com for information about the company and its products.
