Panda Software (UK) and Credit Reporting Agency Ltd join forces in the fight against Internet fraud

CAMBRIDGE, February 6, 2004
Panda Software (UK) Ltd and Credit Reporting Agency Ltd have teamed up in an effort to protect users against the growing number of banking scams on the Internet. An increasing amount of false e-mails are circulating the Internet, passing themselves off as messages from well-known banks and prompting users to enter confidential account details, which fall straight into the hands of hackers.
The result of the partnership between these two companies will see the promotion of two new Credit Reporting Agency products: Identity Theft Prevention Pack and Credit Monitor, designed to guarantee the security of confidential data, and which combine user training and advanced technologies to combat Internet threats.
- Identity Theft Prevention Pack contains a practical guide including tips for victims of bank fraud and a version of Panda Titanium Antivirus 2004 with 12 months’ services and daily updates.
- Credit Monitor, as well as the guide described above, this solution also includes fraud insurance and a version of Panda Internet Security with 12 months’ services. As well as antivirus protection, this security suite incorporates a personal firewall and specific tools for blocking spam, spyware and dialers, armoring files, controlling access to websites and detecting and solving vulnerabilities in the software installed on the computer.
Credit Reporting Agency is the UK's first Internet-based provider of consumer credit reference information, which it delivers through its website Checkmyfile.com. Due to the nature of the data handled by its clients, the company’s top priority is to safeguard the confidentiality of this data.
