Added: (Thu Feb 16 2012)

Pressbox (Press Release) - When multinational company opens location in Brazil ERP system selection is critical to retain reasonable control and internal audit option. At the same time selected software should be in compliance with Brazilian tax code and legislation. Letís try to review accounting systems software market in Brazil and selection recommendations

Here in Brazil we have most of the ERP brand names present with offices in Sao Paulo and across the country. We would like to mention SAP, Microsoft Dynamics AX, Oracle as well as locally programmed application Microsiga

You should be ready to do your homework in selection process however we would recommend you to start with license cost and implementation magnitude. In the case of Microsoft Dynamics AX formerly known as Axapta the platform is very flexible but it is good fit for large enterprise and implementation cost is rather high. It might be comparable to Oracle Applications/Ebusiness Suite also referred as Oracle Financials. SAP Business One is probably the only offer at this time from brand name which fits to mid-size and small subsidiary in Brazil

Business One versus Microsiga. Here you should consider manageability factor. If you have management in the USA fluently speaking and reading Brazilian Portuguese then Microsiga is an option. However if you would prefer all the communication to be in English then we would recommend you to select SAP B1

SPED. In Brazil we have electronic filing requirements known as SPED in its abbreviation. Basically you have to send information to Brazilian IRS via internet on Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Ledger. You are required to submit information according to government approved GL Chart of Accounts. Of course you are not restricted to use it for managerial and corporate reporting and this is why localization has accounts mapping form

Federal and State taxation. Rates and formulas are not fixed for every company. They rather depend on the products or services you sell, sales volume, originated state (for example from Sao Paulo) and destination state (for example Rio de Janeiro, Amazonia, Bahia, etc.)

Letís take some questions.

Q. Do you have VAT or Sales Tax model of taxation in Brazil?
A. It is more complex and should probably be considered as combination of the two

Q. In SAP BO can we switch from Brazilian Portuguese to English user interface in order to conduct internal corporate audit?
A. Yes you can. SPED automation add-on is available in Portuguese only

Q. What is license pricing model in your country?
A. It is the same worldwide or in other words it is based on named user concept where the user has access to every module in his or her licensing scope

Q. Is it possible to see your video presentation on major video portals?
A. Yes, we are publishing these materials on Youtube, www.efaru.com and www.alba866.com Video demo narrated by Celso Tau Zumberg is about one hour long and part two is only covering minutes from ten to fifteen
