Taipei, Taiwan / Slough, UK, October 11th, 2007. ATEN International, leading designer and manufacturer of cutting-edge connectivity solutions, announced today that it will showcase its complete range of connectivity and server room management solutions during IP’07 (Oct. 16-17). The leading KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) manufacturer presents its extended ALTUSEN™ product line for mid-sized and large companies to UK end users and channel partners. Innovations like the cost effective ALTUSEN™ Over the NETTM solutions for remote server management and ATEN’s Cat 5 KVM switches are designed to reduce complexity and costs of server and infrastructure management.

“The stage looks set to be an exciting show for ATEN. This year’s organizer research shows that remote server management is one of the top draws for attendees at IP’07, eager to identify solutions that help alleviate the pain of server management and allow them to discover the face of the data centre of tomorrow,” commented John Chen, Managing Director of ATEN UK. “With this in mind, we strive to consistently extend our ALTUSEN™ product range to become the most comprehensive, flexible and expandable solution for consolidating server room infrastructures, provide centralized remote management over IP, increase efficiency and thus reduce costs not only in multinational firms, but also in SMB environments.”

Among the product highlights on display, ATEN will introduce the 8 and 16-port Cat 5 KVM switches ALTUSEN™ KH1508 and KH1516. This economical enterprise solution allows users to connect up to 8 or 16 servers of multiple platform servers and to control them from a single console. KH1508 / KH1516 extends the distance between KVM switch and servers up to 40 meters transmitting an excellent video quality of 1280 x 1024 pixels, and it is extremely expandable allowing administrators to link additional units for controlling up to 512 servers.

With the ALTUSEN™ Over the NETTM remote management solutions, ATEN provides secured and centralized management of entire IT infrastructures in multiple data centers, branch offices and remote locations. In addition to its IP-based ALTUSEN™ product line, ATEN offers a wide range of enterprise-class KVM solutions including multi-platform KVM, LCD KVM, and Matrix KVM switches. Within this product line, ATEN will be demonstrating the new LCD Console (CL1000) for the first time, along with the 16-Port KVM Over the NET (KN2116), 16-Port Serial Over the NET (SN0116) and 16-Port Power Over the NET (PN9116).

For small and home office environments (SOHO), ATEN will show desktop and cable KVM switches. The connectivity expert recently launched a complete line of DVI cable KVM switches. ATEN’s product range also includes KVM extenders and HDMI video solutions, which allows users to share one HDMI display device with multiple HDMI input sources (HD DVD players, satellite systems, digital camcorders or video game consoles).

Furthermore, IP’07 will see the showcase of ATEN’s expanded range of integrated video solutions including brand-new product innovations such as the VS0404 Video Matrix Switch, the new Video Switch (VS201), the Video Splitter (VS132), the new Video Extender (VE150) as well as the newly developed Video Synchronizer (VE510), and VGA Over Cat 5 Repeater (VE550).

About KVM Switches – An Essential Server Management Device

A KVM (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) switch is an advanced, hardware-based solution that allows centralized access to multiple computers easily and conveniently from a single keyboard, monitor, and mouse. A KVM switch is useful in an extensive range of environments, suitable for SOHO users, small and medium businesses, and large corporations. Fundamentally, a KVM switch allows server rooms and data centers to optimize rack space in the IT environment, reducing costs and the clutter of keyboards, monitors and mice. Additional benefits include savings in energy consumption, server racks, cabinets, and floor space. Since a KVM switch provides access to a number of computers from a central location, IT professionals are no longer running from one server to the next, thereby streamlining workflow and increasing productivity. To meet the ever-developing needs of the globalized economy and the Internet, KVM solutions now have over-IP functionality for remote management capability that better fulfills the demands of corporations who need to manage multiple server rooms worldwide.
