Newsblog of the Weird

Added: (Thu Sep 22 2005)

Pressbox (Press Release) - The First Online Church of "Bob," a SubGenius ministry, is producing a daily news service that offers viewers a look at the strange and unusual side of the news.

The Bulldada Newsblog, maintained and updated regularly by the Church, is a blog that provides links to daily news stories that focus on controversial, unusual, ironic, and often funny news stories. Unlike most "weird news" stories that focus on "funny" news and "cute animal" stories, the Bulldada Newsblog focuses more upon controversial areas of the news that often have a high irony factor -- and which often provoke unintentional laughter.

Reverend Modemac, maintainer of the newsblog, explains that the key theme of the newsblog is the discovery of "bulldada" in the news. "Bulldada," he explains, "is what happens when someone is completely and absolutely SERIOUS when they write or produce a story...so serious, in fact, that they completely miss the fact that their production is utterly ridiculous."

Topics covered regularly by the Bulldada Newsblog include stories related to censorship, free-speech issues, conspiracies and government cover-ups (or attempted cover-ups), religious cults, and "porn news." Porn news includes news stories that inform the public about pornoraphy (such as the recent discovery of pornographic scenes in the video game "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas"), but do not have actual pornographic content.

The Bulldada Newsblog includes an RSS feed that is constantly updated. Subscriptions are free, and the Web site for the newsblog does not contain intrusive advertising. The URL for the Bulldada Newsblog is: http://www.modemac.com/wiki/Bulldada_Newsblog

The Bulldada Newsblog is part of the High Weirdness Project ( http://www.modemac.com ), a wiki-based project of the First Online Church of "Bob" that is dedicated to providing interesting, bizarre, weird, subversive, and Slackful sources of information.
