New Dallas News Website Launched

Pressbox (Press Release) - Dallas, located in the north central part of Texas, is the third largest city in the state and the ninth largest city in the United States and will now be served by an exciting new web project called Dallas News Hound.

DallasNewsHound.com will aggregate Dallas and North Central Texas news all in one place. The site will cover news from Fort Worth, Arlington, Irving and other cities around the DFW metroplex.

According to Arbitron, Dallas-Fort Worth has a 12+ population of 5,216,100 people, making it the 5th largest radio market in the United States. Nielsen considers the DFW Metroplex DMA to be the 5th largest television market in the country as well.

Currently, Dallas news is provided by one major daily newspaper, and several ethnic and weekly papers.

Numerous area television stations affiliated with the major broadcasting networks, produce news content for the web as well. Some sixty-three (63) radio stations operate within range of Dallas. WRR licensed in 1921, is the oldest commercially operated radio station in Texas. Other news-talk stations include WBAP, (owned by Citadel), KRLD (owned by CBS Radio, Inc), KERA (operated by North Texas Public Broadcasting), KLIF (owned by Cumulus Media, Inc.), KSKY (owned by Salem Communications Corp), and KFXR (owned by Clear Channel Communications)Dallas News Hound will gather and curate content from many of these sources.
