technilink iT Ltd are proud to announce that we have been short listed for the 2007 eHampshire award for e-commerce.
As part of the Winchester Business Excellence Awards, technilink have been short listed in the e-commerce category which means that we have demonstrated the use of e-commerce to deliver business objectives and have shown the positive impact of e-commerce and improved business performance as a result.
Richard Butler, CEO, says This is fantastic for technilink as recognition that DigitalMeeting is a powerful product, both in terms of using the internet as a business tool in the real world and as an easy and cost effective way for a company to reduce its carbon footprint by cutting down on the emissions caused by unnecessary travel.
The competition entry was in the form of an essay and the judges panel felt that we had met the following criteria by demonstrating:
Successful development of e-commerce systems and the expansion of sales through the internet
The impact of e-commerce in improving organisational efficiency and bottom line results
Innovation in the use of web-based marketing
Links to the e-enablement of the whole business including, for example, secure purchase and sales, online order tracking etc.
Richard Butler continues: This is recognition that any business, from the smallest startup to the largest conglomerate, can show that they are embracing the use of the internet in new and innovative ways. So much time and money is wasted by people travelling to unproductive meetings. This is a huge drain on financial resources and totally avoidable when the equipment needed- a phone and a computer- is usually readily available in offices, hotels and homes around the world.
Environmental issues are fast becoming a major factor in the business world and he addressed this by saying:
The ecological impact of business travel is enormous in terms of the carbon emissions created by these journeys. If a company can reduce its carbon footprint to below its allowance the carbon credits can then be used as a saleable commodity. This will undoubtedly be one of the major business factors in the next few years and it is so easy, right now, to drastically reduce the carbon footprint of any business by holding DigitalMeetings. By working in real time, on screen, any document can be discussed and collaborated on. This also enables companies to avoid a huge amount of paper wastage by cutting down on the need for multiple agendas and notepaper.
The Awards ceremony itself will take place in the Winchester Guildhall on Friday 8th June.
