technilink's New Sustainable Business Advisor

Added: (Fri May 25 2007)

We welcome the newest member of the technilink team, Amy Silvester. As we have recognised for a long time the importance of mixing business and environmental awareness, we now have our very own Sustainability Advisor.

Amy Silvester is working with us to help business people to understand the importance of ecology in the real world marketplace and to help them to get on the right track towards low carbon emission work practices.

The environment is fast becoming a major political battleground, with the major parties making policy decisions which will affect every aspect of business as we know it. There have been mentions of frequent flier taxation (on top of the fuel tax already levied), pay as you drive road pricing, London Congestion Charging of up to 25 per day, and many other 'incentives' to cut down on the amount of travel done on our already over stressed transport infrastructure.

Amy will give Free Business Sustainability Audits worth 250 and advise on other issues which will help any company to reduce their environmental legacy.

Of course, at technilink we practice what we preach, so we have already massively cut down on the amount of paper we use, and when we must, we ensure that it comes from recycled sources and is used on both sides. In the office we use an air cooler not an air conditioner and make the most of the natural cool air and natural light coming through our office window.

So, welcome once again to Amy, and we hope that her experience can help lead to many new DigitalMeeting customers thinking just that little bit more about lessening the burden on our precious home which we call the Earth.
